This graphic T-shirt, themed "Constitutive," re-edits fragmented structures and arrangements found in everyday life. By focusing on objects in intermediate stages of function and use, and on fragments of relationships, rather than completed subjects, it visualizes the very genesis of things. We aim to create a product that embraces the idea that meaning changes depending on the perspective and how it's framed, without fixed interpretations.

Material

Made with open-end yarn, commonly used for casual T-shirts. The dry, coarse texture characteristic of thick yarn is expressed with Japanese-made fabric. It uses a tubular knit, which minimizes stress from seams while retaining a traditional appearance.

Processing

Garment dyeing was carried out in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. The WHITE version is finished with an emphasis on lightness and a natural unevenness, preserving the outline of the material. The BLACK version undergoes multiple dyeing and washing processes to achieve a deep color and a well-worn texture. Both colors will develop changes in color and texture with repeated wear and washing.

Silhouette

Features a round body specification created by traditional circular knitting machines. The relaxed silhouette, with ample room in the shoulders and body, naturally follows the body's movements. It's a versatile balance, easy to wear on its own or as a base for layering.

Background Story

The graphic is composed of images that capture elements supporting functionality, such as wiring, equipment, and material assemblies, from multiple perspectives. As the message "SEE THINGS FROM NEW ANGLES" suggests, by viewing familiar objects from different angles, new structures and meanings emerge. This garment embodies the perspective of finding value in constitutive elements themselves, integrated into everyday wear.
